The waterfalls in the Riesloch gorge near Bodenmais are unique. In several cascades, the water plunges down into a wild gorge. It rushes down on the southwestern flank of the Arber massif. The spectacle is particularly wild during the snowmelt in spring or after heavy rainfall in the Arber area.
The spectacle can be reached on a stony hiking trail from Bodenmais in about one hour. The same time is needed to climb up the stony path that runs a little further up. Both paths meet again above the waterfalls. From here, the small and the big Arber offer themselves as popular hiking destinations.
