The Pröller
(1048 meters) is one of many in a long mountain range, not too far away from
the Danube in the first row, if you look at it from the Danube plain. It shows
itself as a broad hump between Sankt Englmar, Rattenberg and Viechtach and can
be hiked from these stations.
At the top of the summit cross, after a not too demanding hike, the view sweeps far over the Regental valley to the Osser and into the Bohemian. Three ski runs on three different sides offer winter sports enthusiasts ideal conditions. A few seating groups right at the summit cross invite you to have a backpack snack.
On the south-eastern slope of the mountain you will find a huge summer toboggan run and other amusement facilities. Opposite, at the next bump, a winding road leads up to Maibrunn. There a forest top walk was installed in recent times. From there you have a view of the Danube plain and the Gäuboden. In clear weather you can see the chain of the Alps.
